Card Meanings

rider-waite-tarotThese tarot card meaning pages that I’m slowly creating for each card are my own personal notes on what each card means for me.  I’m using this blog as a kind of notebook, so expect to find sentence fragments, varying amounts of depth on any given card, and images from different tarot decks. Learning tarot is a life long process and I’m using this blog to support and advance my understanding of the cards. I always welcome feed back if you would like to comment!

It’s easy to find tarot card meanings on the internet.  There are a million sites for it.  Ok amend that, I just googled “tarot card meanings” and only came up with 592, 000 results. That is enough probably though, and I’m sure my little blog here did not even come up!  If you are learning to read tarot, you will inevitably look at many different websites with card meanings, and probably buy a book or two on card meanings alone.  I’m in the process of developing my own intuitive meanings of the cards, and this is something that happens for anyone after a bit of practice reading. This intuitive knowledge may echo the “established” card meanings, or it may be truly unique to you.  All meanings for the cards can have merit, and even if your own meaning varies wildly from the norm, that meaning might be just right for you and your reading style.

Here are a couple of places on the web that I often go to for good card meanings:

Biddy Tarot:  http://www.biddytarot.com/
This is Brigit Esselmont’s tarot business website and it has lots of fantastic resources beyond just tarot card meanings!

Learning the Tarothttp://www.learntarot.com/
This is Joan Bunning’s tarot learning website, and it also comes in handy book form if you need meanings when not online!
