Relationships Reflection with the New Moon in Libra, October 8, 2018

The New Moon we are graced with today is in Libra, the sign ruled by the planet Venus. If you’re into astrology at all, you’ve probably heard much talk recently about the Venus retrograde cycle that is currently taking place. Starting on October 5th, and lasting for the next 40 days till November 16th, Venus will appear to backtrack across the sky and the zodiac signs of Scorpio into Libra. The retrograde movement of the planets is associated with going within, reflection, and reassessment. These energies are particularly potent within the realm of Libra/Venus which rules relationships, the feminine, balance, love, and values. We will all feel a summons to reexamine our relationships: our romantic relationships, friendships, business partnerships, and most importantly our relationship to ourselves. This is a great time to ask the tarot for some guidance on what intentions can best help us navigate this moon cycle for optimum balance and harmony. Here are some prompts for you to try:

~What intention can I set to help me focus on emotional balance during this moon phase?
~What intention can I set to help me create harmony and equality in my relationships?
~What intention can I set to help me deal with Venus’ call for self reflection and reassessment of the past?

Here is a reading for us all using my favorite fall deck, the Zombie Tarot:

The Zombie Tarot: Five of Cups, King of Cups, Page of Pentacles

~What intention can I set to help me focus on emotional balance during this moon phase?
Five of Cups
The V of Cups signifies difficult emotions such as regret, longing, grief, and sadness. It often comes up at a time when it feels like all has been lost. You are faced with crushing disappointment and have no idea what could lift your dark mood. The world looks bleak. There is a tendency now to obsess about what has passed, what has caused you pain, what is gone and can never return. The imbalance in the world is that feelings, emotions, and matters of the heart are not as important and meaningful as power, money, and big business. When people’s lived experiences don’t matter, especially those of women, what is the point of society? Who does it actually serve?

At this New Moon, set the intention to move away from the darkest depths of grief and despair. In order to bring balance into your life you will need to allow for hope and optimism to be present and acknowledged. There is no need to question the validity of your pain, the horror of your past, the sadness you have felt. That pain is real and that pain is acknowledged. The thing is, you can’t stay there and relive it forever. That isn’t for your highest good, that isn’t going to solve any of your issues, that isn’t going to make it better- ever. What will make your situation better, and consequently improve the lives of all those in your life that love and care about you, is to open yourself up to the possibility of future happiness. Appreciating the small moments of your day, practicing gratitude and kindness, and saying yes to what you DO want- this will help you move forward and heal. Set the intention to invite hope and love into your life and leave guilt, doubt, and grief behind.

~What intention can I set to help me create harmony and equality in my relationships?
King of Cups
The King of Cups is empathetic, diplomatic, generous, and deeply kind. He is compassionate, creative, understanding, and aware. These are all characteristics that we should set our intentions towards being in the month ahead. The King of Cups is the ultimate symbol of harmony and equality embodied in human form that the tarot has to offer us. This card comes as a very good sign that we have the emotional maturity and depth of character to manage and improve our relationships during this moon cycle and continue that through the whole Venus retrograde cycle.

There’s a certain amount of restraint to the King of Cups as well, he doesn’t overflow with emotion but rather balances emotion with intellect. He knows how to communicate matters of the heart without emotional manipulation, waterfalls of tears, or screaming matches about who cares more. He has control over his emotions, knows how to set boundaries between personal and shared feelings, and can provide stability and support for those around him. Set the intention this month to act as a King of Cups yourself when dealing with issues of balance and harmony in your relationships. How would you like to be treated? How would you like to be spoken to? How can you compromise and negotiate? The King of Cups is here to back you up with quiet, sensitive, and understanding vibrations.

~What intention can I set to help me deal with Venus’ call for self reflection and reassessment of the past?
Page of Pentacles
A Page is always a good sign for new beginnings, just like a New Moon. This Page has a rather responsible and determined youthful energy, bringing fresh opportunity or possibility to your life. His appearance signifies a real exuberance for learning about yourself by diving into the self-reflection and reassessment demanded by this Venus retrograde with an eagerness to learn new things about yourself. Now is the chance to see your past in the bright light and perspective of your present self!  Set the intention to go into this cycle with an open mind and a willingness to learn new things about yourself.

Maybe you’re not the type of person who delights in processing the past and rehashing old issues, well- you just might have to do it anyway this season. Don’t be afraid to go down this road of analysis. The Page of Pentacles is offering up many learning opportunities in a spirit of wonder, but also practicality. Don’t be surprised if your self assessment unearths some old dreams about home, finances, work, or your body that were lost along the way. You could find yourself revved up by a great business idea you had before, a renewal of a project around the house, a job pop up you always wanted, or a refreshed diet and exercise plan. The point is, set the intention to be wide-eyed and open to possibility, the Page of Pentacles isn’t adapt at reengaging with the past, but he sure can make the most practical use of what he finds there.

Creating Structure with the New Moon in Capricorn

Hello, and welcome to the first New Moon tarot reading of 2018. If you haven’t managed to start off the year with that bang! you were planning or imagining, this New Moon is the perfect time to finally set those intentions for the year ahead and get your plan mapped out for how you want to feel and what you want to accomplish this year. It isn’t too late. In fact, now is the time you are best supported in intention setting because the New Moon in Capricorn loves this stuff. You’ve had a chance to rest from the holidays and readjust to the changing of that digit on the calendar, and can look with clarity at the road ahead.

Even if you did manage to make an amazing plan for the year ahead with big and beautiful intentions scheduled out for each and every day, this New Moon in Capricorn still lends you support to reexamine and reassert your commitment to your plan. Capricorn is an Earth sign and therefore aids you in grounding and centering yourself for the time ahead. Look to your health, home, and finances to assess whether or not you feel connected to these areas and have solid intentions and plans for your Earthy sector. How does your body feel? What could improve in your home environment? How are you feeling about your finances? Let Capricorn give you ideas for creating a solid, stable, structured, and disciplined approach to your new year.

Here’s a tarot reading for the Capricorn New Moon!:

The Wild Unknown Tarot: Father of Swords, Father of Cups rx, The Empress rx

How can I commit to and take responsibility for my intentions for the coming Moon cycle and the year ahead?– Father of Wands

The Father of Wands is a King card, it is an energy that readily accepts responsibility, in fact, you were born for it. You were born to excel and to lead. Even if you are only leading your own life you will inevitably end up leading others by this outstanding example. You are fully capable of taking control of your life and making it what you want it to be. You have an inclination and an innate ability to use your creativity, to connect with your light from within, and to shine that light out into the world around you. This personality is one that takes action, follows her spirit, and lives out her destiny without doubt or shame. Capricorn, ruled by the planet/energy of Saturn wants you to connect with what lights you up inside and use that knowledge to plan your year ahead. Remember that you are in charge of your life. You are responsible for yourself and how you decide to deal with your challenges and your good fortunes. The Father of Wands asks you to commit to actions aligned with your soul purpose, to what ignites your passion and inspires you.

What structures do I need to put in place in order to live up to my intentions?– Father of Cups reversed

Another Father/King card, showing the mature and responsible energy of Saturn/Capricorn all around you at this time. This King deals in the realm of emotions, and with the reversal we see an even deeper and more pronounced need to go within yourself and wade through the emotions that are connected to your goals for 2018. How do you want to feel this year? What are the feelings that you want to experience or generate? Will working on and accomplishing your goals garner those feelings? All of your emotions are connected with all of your actions, and the Father of Cups wants to make sure you understand and accept those connections. The easier and more natural it is for you to engender the feelings you want to invoke through your actions, the more flow you will experience in accomplishing your goals for the year. You want to put into a place a structure that weaves your emotions in with your inspiration to create actions that further your progress. Spend a little time today connecting to your emotional realm to get clear on what you want to feel in the year ahead.

How and where can I apply more grounding energy in my life?– The Empress reversed

The Empress is a beautiful Earth energy of abundance and love, with the reversal suggesting an inward bent to this energy. In other words, make sure you are nurturing and loving yourself from the inside all the way to the outside. When we care for, respect, and love ourselves, we set ourselves up to best care for, respect, and love others. Apply grounding Capricorn energy inward to build a firm foundation of self respect and self love. The Empress reversed also warns against overabundance, though, asking you to make sure that you’re not overdoing it. Overindulgence in food, overexertion in exercise, overspending to create comfort, overwork, or even suffocating those around you with over nurturing are all possibilities of going overboard with the abundance of The Empress. Focus most intensely on the values of Empress, rather than the possible rote actions of mothering and creation that she implies.

Be aware that you need your goals to be fulfilling of your life-long values in order to create meaning in your life. For example, a goal like, “Do 100 tarot readings,” does not really fulfill a value. Rather something like, “Develop deeper understanding of humanity, intuition, and how to use the tarot to explore the meaning of life,” might be more useful and satisfying in the long run. You can go out and do 100 tarot readings this year, but the act of doing tarot reading #100 won’t be as soul-fulfilling as the feeling that you have learned so much and understand tarot and people so much more because of your actions. Connecting a core value attached to a core emotion to your actions will make the things you put on your To Do List for 2018 more satisfying and likely to get done this year!

I like how we got all ruler cards (2 Kings and an Empress!) in this reading, which really speaks to the responsible and structured vibe of this Capricorn New Moon. We have such great support for using our mastery of self in order to further our goals, learn, and grow in 2018. Don’t be afraid of using what you already know and love about yourself as a stepping stone to do good work. Yes, there is still tons to learn and you’re probably wrong about most of the things you think you know right now, but that’s how life works! We can’t live in fear of the unknown, of taking risks, of being wrong, or of failure. These things are so necessary and useful. The pain of failure creates meaningful experiences that help us learn way better and faster than if we do nothing at all and let things stay at the status quo until someone or something comes along and makes us change. Wouldn’t you rather be the instigator, living out your own dreams, rather than a bystander who has change forced upon them by outside forces? Take control now with the Capricorn New Moon. Boldly state your intentions and wishes for the month and year ahead without fear or dread of the unknown or failure. Taking responsibility for your life is wonderful!

A beautiful morning last February, 2016 in Ocala Forest in Florida, USA.

Best wishes for your Capricorn New Moon day. I hope you can take the time to connect with the Moon and with the Earth energy of Capricorn today. Spend a few minutes outside in nature to thank our Mother Earth for supporting us in our plans for the year ahead and providing us with a wonderful home in which to learn and grow. Taurus New Moon Tarot Reading for April 26, 2017

The Sun and the Moon are both in the earthy sign of Taurus today. It’s springtime in the northern hemisphere and the earth is awakening, each day blooming and opening just a little bit more. This is a profoundly potent time for personal renewal as the Earth renews its flowers and leaves and the Moon renews it’s waxing journey towards fullness. There is a recognition of the necessity of beauty and pleasure in life at this time of year. Make it a priority to spend time in nature, taking a walk, looking at the spring flowers, breathing in the warming air. These are not frivolous pursuits but rather the fuel for your soul to flourish. This process of flourishing should not be rushed. Taurus likes to take her time, reveling in the richness of life. Be patient, gentle, and indulgent in your self-appraisal at this New Moon. Let’s look at what advice for intention setting with the New Moon that the tarot has for us at this time:

Motherpeace Tarot: Priestess of Wands, VIII of Swords, The Emperor, The Devil

What will help you connect with the pleasure and enjoyment of the physical world around you?- Priestess of Wands

If anyone is out having a wonderful walk, connecting with the natural world, it is the woman on this card, the Priestess (Queen) of Wands. The image contains sun, clouds, rainbow, flowers, lion, salamander, and a naked woman confidently out for a walk- I love it! This Priestess wants you to follow your passion, do what lights you up inside, follow your inner fire energy. She contains magic and so do you. So do all of us. She isn’t afraid of nature and emphasizes the oneness that includes everything on this planet. If you think about what a tiny speck of existence the Earth occupies in the infinity of The Universe it is easy to see how we are all related and connected as part of this planet. That kind of perspective can quickly slip from your grasp on a daily basis when bogged down with the minutiae of getting by, though. It’s important to remember that it as often as possible! The Priestess of Wands advises us all to “Just do it!”, regarding the need to connect with all of Earth. Actually, it’s easy to imagine that this is an image of the goddess Nike…

What will help you connect with the pleasure and enjoyment of your physical body?- VIII of Swords

On the VIII of Swords we see a woman engaged in a sword battle with a brick wall. The message this card imparts is that most of the time the battles we engage in are only real within our minds. They are not based in reality and they are not physical. Our minds trap us into these seeming corners and by fighting against them we actually give these walls strength by the acknowledgment of their existence. These walls are not real though! Oftentimes, the opinions and perceptions we have about our bodies are equally not based in logic and reality. We follow unobtainable body standards shoved at us by marketing so that we will buy products to “fix” ourselves. I challenge you to not use any of those products today. Forget about putting paint on your fingernails or powder on your eyelids. Skip the HIIT workout and go skipping around a field instead. Do what brings you joy! Love your body exactly as it is in this moment because it’s a hell of a lot easier to find joy than it is to find six pack abs (not to mention that one is necessary and the other is so not.)

How can you make solid, structured steps towards your financial goals this month?- The Emperor

Well, hello Mr. Emperor, might you possibly be good with money (read with loads of sarcasm)?! You can learn a lot from the structure and disciple of the Emperor. He is a wise, but conservative investor. He earns a steady income and keeps track of his spending. He knows when he can splurge and when to hold onto his money. There is a lot to be gained with the help of this financially savvy card and the prevailing Taurus energy of the next two weeks. Why not take advantage of that energy? Sit down and make a budget, a real one with actually line items and numbers on it. If you have to bribe yourself into doing it, that’s fine. Get a fancy coffee drink or drive to your favorite outdoor spot so you can get your finances straight. Once you know what money is coming versus going out, you’ll be in much better shape to rule over your little empire. Otherwise you’re just wishing and hoping with no solid base or plan in this reality.

Where do you need greater patience with your progress towards your life goals?- The Devil reversed

I love how the image on this Motherpeace tarot card for The Devil is basically a representation of the patriarchy. Yes, we all are impatient to break old, useless power structures and get on on with the evolution of the human race, but we here on this website are not the ones scrambling to hold onto that power dynamic, are we? Even so, we can all practice letting go of our egos, turning away from materialism and consumerism, and focusing instead on our spiritual connection. It is amazingly easy to slide into full on egomaniac mode though. We succumb to addictions, physical craving, anger and resentment of others, jealousy, and negativity loops. Right now we are steering clear of those Devil pitfalls and just allowing for life to be as it is. This is beautiful and encouraging. Perhaps we do not require greater patience but rather simply enduring patience. We are getting somewhere, just slowly, which is just how Taurus loves to do things! There is much to enjoy in the present, the way things are, so set the intention to do just that. Be present and grateful at this New Moon. You are getting somewhere!

Aries New Moon Tarot Reading, March 27th, 2017

The New Moon in Aries brings with it a sense of renewal and beginning. Spring is in the air! This is astrologically the first New Moon of the year and therefore carries a drive for action and change, fresh starts and growth. There is movement, dance, play, and creativity associated with Aries and the New Moon will crank up the emotional satisfaction achieved from DOING. This is a wonderful time to get things done, to make an action plan and then start ticking things off immediately. You might even put some things on your to do list that you’ve already done just so you can start crossing things off the list right away!

We’re working with Fire energy here so just a quick reminder that too much doing can cause burnout. Direct your resources wisely so that you’re focusing on what you actually want/need to get done instead of doing simply everything you are capable of doing. You’re capable of a lot right now, but even so there are limitations. When you’re feeling drained spend a little quiet time just contemplating fire. Build a beautiful bonfire to stare into if you can, but a simple candle will also do the trick. Breathe in creativity and motivation and then go getter dun.

Here’s some advice from the tarot on narrowing your focus, balancing out chaos, and having fun with the Aries New Moon:

The Wild Unknown Tarot: VII of Pentacles, II of Swords reversed, IV of Wands

What area(s) of your life requires immediate attention and action? VII of Pentacles
The Aries New Moon wants to bring fresh energy and point out unrealized potential in a goal or project that you have already started. In other words, this isn’t the time to develop a totally new focus or goal, but rather a time to break free of reflection and evaluation mode on a current project. You’ve made progress and achieved a certain level of success or completion, but right now you are a bit stalled. You’re looking over and contemplating and reviewing what has already happened. That’s all well and good, nice to know where you stand and how far you’ve come, but you’ve gotta break out of that now and keep going forward with your plan. Figure out where you have momentarily stagnated on a major goal and resolve to kick yourself back into action mode to take the goal all the way to completion.

Here are some ideas of goals you might have set and possible next steps:  If you are in school or studying, now is the time to start defining your thesis or final project. If you’re building a career, now is the time to look for that step up the career ladder. If you’re trying to grow your investments, now is the time to make a 5 year plan for your financial health. If you’re in a committed relationship, now is the time to ask yourself if you see a future with this partner. If you’re on a diet and fitness regime, now is the time to break out of a success plateau and reach for a new level of health. If you’re looking for love, you may have now developed the type of self love that will attract a partner. If you’re on a spiritual journey, it’s time to start upleveling closer to enlightenment. Wherever you feel like you’ve achieved a certain level of success, it’s time to ratchet it up to the next level.

Where or how are you creating chaos in life? II of Swords reversed
The thing that stops many of us on our quest for that next level or success is refusal or failure to make tough decisions. They decisions often involve us stepping out of our comfort zones, confronting uncomfortable or unimaginable situations, and going forward against fear. Our brains think up all kinds of things for us to be afraid of and our hearts quail at the thought of all that pain that will be caused by our deepest fears. Chaos can enter the situation in the form of information overload, overactive imagination, too many choices, multiple conflicting points of view, and nightmares blown out of proportion. The II of Swords reversed advises us that chaos enters our lives when we have tough decisions to make, but it can also be resolved and dissipate when we make a choice and commit to it. When we give a big middle finger to fear and do what we want in our hearts and minds, we effectively cut chaos in two, cripple it, stop it from ruling our lives. Now, more than ever, you need to make the choice to act and reach for your goals no matter how difficult or frightening it might seem.

How can you have more fun!?  IV of Wands
There is super charged potential for fun times this coming month. The IV of Wands is the ultimate card of celebration and hopefully we will all be celebrating because we have taken our goals to the next level and manifested our dreams into reality. The Wands represent Fire energy, just like this Aries New Moon, so we are all set to feel full of light. What lights you up? What fills you with creative vibes? What milestones do you want to reach? Doing or working towards what lights you up inside is a surefire way to have a good time.

The IV of Wands also advises that we will have fun when we spend time with community, family, and friends. Look at the calendar to see what special events are coming up in the next four weeks and make a point of joining in those celebrations. This is a great time to celebrate birthdays, engagements, marriages, births, graduation ceremonies, spring, Easter, etc. Any reason that you and your people have a reason to get together and celebrate is the perfect way to fill yourself up with happiness and light. Say yes to social invitations that honor milestones and accomplishments. When you participate in buoying up and acknowledging the people you love, you lift up everyone on this planet.

Have a wonderful and light-filled Dark Moon in Aries this fine Monday. I encourage you to engage responsible with fire, to have fun with your tribe, and to connect with your tarot deck using these prompts that I employed in this reading. I’m always available for personal email readings as well if you are moved to work with me. Happy Aries New Moon!

Innovative Aquarius New Moon Reading for January 27th, 2017

The New Moon today arrives in the sign of Aquarius. This is the sign of innovation, originality, larger perspective, and revolution. If you want to shake things up in your life, this is the perfect New Moon to energize your intentions to make your own rules, take a risk, and be your true, unique, unconventional self. Open yourself up during this New Moon to receive completely new, unlooked for, and unprecedented ideas. You may be shocked and wonderfully surprised to have a breakthrough in understanding about your life purpose and what you want to do with that purpose. You have an increased capacity to learn and discovery new things with Aquarius now.

You are still only human though and have some limitations. Remember to set your priorities and not over schedule and exhaust yourself in the next two weeks of the waxing Moon. Pick the idea, project, or inspiration that you are most drawn to now and zero in your focus on huge progress instead of spreading yourself too thin over a ton of great ideas. You’ll have lots of other New Moons this year to work with so pick the intentions that will best be realized with the helpful energy of Aquarius! Here is some pertinent advice from the tarot on how to work with this gorgeous and bright Aquarius New Moon energy:

fullsizerender

The Linestrider Tarot: Queen of Wands, II of Pentacles reversed, IX of Swords reversed

How can I best be my unique, unconventional self? Queen of Wands
Oh yes! The Queen of Wands is a shining example of how to be authentic to yourself. As with all the Queens, she is deeply and maturely connected to her inner, emotional world. She understands herself, accepts herself, and wants to share that self-confident vibe with those around her. The Queens all have the capacity and the propensity to nurture and support. Right now there is a vibrant energy not only to be your own, unique self, but to lift others up to shine brighter as their true, magical selves.

The gift of the suit of Wands is just that- magical. Wands is fire energy, the shine from deep within that lights up our lives and helps us light up the lives of those around us. The Queen of Wands asks you to get in touch with what lights you up inside. What is your divine spark? What is your inspiration you want to develop and share? What is your creation power? The Queen of Wands can be viewed as The Magician at work in this world, manifesting her ideas into reality. When you connect to what makes you special, different, unique, wild and free, you channel that ability to make your life and yourself into whatever you desire. You are not limited by societal values or regulations, you are encouraged and empowered to be whatever it is that you were born to be. Let the Queen of Wands be your guide in saying YES! to your soul purpose and your Higher Self.

What area of my life needs the most focused r/evolution right now? II of Pentacles rx
The II of Pentacles is all about multi-tasking, getting things done, taking on the world and it’s mountain of obligations and kicking ass. Yet, with this reversal we are being asked to narrow it down, to focus on one task at a time, to say no to that which we aren’t drawn to do. The world can ask us to do a hell of a lot. In fact, it can be an overwhelming and impossible amount that society demands of us. We are supposed to work and have a career, develop ourselves and have hobbies, be healthy, active, eat well, support our friends and family, buy everything that is made, have more fun than our neighbors, and never settle until we have lived our dreams. BLARGH- that is just too much.

Instead of doing, doing, doing, the II of Pentacles rx would like you to take a step back right now with the New Moon. Sit down and focus on just one thing- rest. What does it feel like to be still? Can you stop your thoughts? Can you stop your busy body? What visions emerge when you clear your mind of the day-to-day and allow for a larger perspective on your life. Instead of getting bogged down in the details of what is happening in your life right now, set yourself free into the joy and peace of the moment. Try to frolic and float on the idea that you are alive, you are possibility, you can create. When you are filled with that joy of being you and being able to do so much- then go ahead and ask yourself what you actually want to do with that ability. Dream big! This could be your entire life purpose that you are realizing, so remember that it takes an entire lifetime to fulfill a life purpose. Give it all the time you have.

How can I ground myself when I’m carried away with new ideas?  IX of Swords rx
The IX of Swords are the cyclical thoughts that spiral into negativity and anxiety. We all have them and we all are obliged to deal with them. Part of being human is having a brain that never wants to stop spinning out thoughts and tends to repeat and prioritize thoughts about fear, worry, defeat, and despair. Why it has to be like this, I don’t know. The good news is that we can learn to be aware of our thoughts, even if we can’t control their incessant nagging that we are the worst, and will fail, and are just not worth it. When you are aware that you are thinking bad thoughts about yourself and those around you, you can decide not to listen to those thoughts. They are crazy! They aren’t true! They are you!

The IX of Swords asks us to double down on that awareness and also to let those thoughts go. Try to work past the point of recognizing and dealing with your anxieties and move towards recognizing and dismissing them. Basically, try to spend less time with your thoughts and more time with a clear mind. Perhaps its time to step up your meditation practice and really get comfortable with a state of no thought. I know I am terrible at this, so I will try to start really small: 3 calming breathes or a 5 minute guided meditation or just a moment to put my hands on the ground or a tree and be one with the energy of this world. I am a part of it after all. Keep working to be the master of your thoughts and the effort will get easier. Your thoughts want to keep you from being your authentic self, but you know you don’t want them to succeed. 🙂

Thanks for reading the Aquarius New Moon Reading. I hope you enjoyed it! These monthly ideas and readings are all inspired by Lisa Michaels’ blog, so if you want to get even more into moon cycles, I highly recommend signing up for her newsletters as well. One of my goals for this year to get a little PDF together of all the New Moon tarot spreads I have done over the years so you can have a couple of New Moon inspired tarot spreads at your finger tips any time you want to work with the moon and tarot- two of my favorite energies!

Until next time XOXOXO!

The Hermetic Tarot: King of Pentacles,   Ace of Wands,   Two of Pentacles

What will help close out 2016, leaving behind that which you don’t want to bring along into 2017? What to leave behind now?- King of Pentacles

The King of Pentacles asks you to pay appreciative attention to all that you have been working on for the past nine years (or just the last year if 9 is bit too ambitious for you!). This King represents abundance, achievement, wealth, and fulfillment. He points to all that you have accomplished, all your successes, all that you have built. It’s the perfect time to take note of the instances when you have been responsible, detail-oriented, and focused in order to reach your goal. I’m sure you can think of quite a few things you are proud of doing in the past nine years. Why not let that really sink in at this New Moon? Take time to reflect, make a list of some of your favorite accomplishments, or create a photo collage or slideshow of your greatest hits from this time period. Try to do some kind of ritual, ceremony, activity, or whatever! that brings you into reflection mode. Remember, when you focus on what you want to bring into your life, you attract more of that energy. When you tell the Universe that you feel good for having achieved X, Y, and Z, you become super-infused with that energy which can help you in the next 9 year cycle to achieve even more!

How can you stay positive and focus on optimism and success in 2017? What kind of year is ahead?– Ace of Wands

The Ace of Wands is a fresh start, a new beginning, a spontaneous spark of inspiration or passion in the coming year. This goes along beautifully with the 1 (one) energy of The Magician who will rule over 2017. It is time to manifest something all together different and new to you. When you want to focus on the positive, one of the best things you can do for yourself is refrain from going over and over past failures and regrets in your head. Snap out of the negativity pattern by having something bright and fiery fresh to distract you and get you back into the present. Even if you want to be doing the same old routines that you really enjoy, it really couldn’t hurt to spice things up a little bit with the new year. Say you have a workout routine that has yielded great results, super! Now it can’t hurt to add a few new moves, try out a different run route, get some fresh workout music, or some other little change to keep you fired up about your fitness. If you have completely failed repeatedly to find a physical fitness routine that works for you, the Ace of Wands suggests that you do something totally different, maybe even something you have been avoiding or think wouldn’t be fun. Give it a shot anyway! The Ace of Wands is full of surprises and keeping your life full of new experiences and ideas will help keep you focused on positivity and inspired in 2017.

What will help create structure and set achievable goals for 2017? Let’s set you up for success and happiness in 2017!– Two of Pentacles

It’s all about balance with the II of Pentacles when you’re working on setting goals for 2017. There is as much need to make the decision to get things done as there is a need to plan out down time for rest and recuperation. You want to look at all the different areas of your life that need tending and bring into harmony how much you are doing you with how much you are just being you. Think, for example, about your home. You probably have some projects you want to do around the house, some ways you can improve your living situation, making your home into your very own. This is a lot of action and doing, so you also need to make sure you are just being in your home. Plan out time to rest, relax, and appreciate your home environment. The II of Pentacles points out this need to bring both activity and stillness into every area of your life, with a special emphasis on the home, finances, the physical body, and the environment which are all ruled by Pentacles and Capricorn as Earth element cards. The II of Pentacles stresses the need for time management, creating priorities, and adapting to the ways you will change and grow during the year. You don’t have to have it all figured out now, I mean you’re never going to have it all figured out! So set yourself manageable and fun goals that you can focus on accomplishing with grace and ease.

Gemini New Moon Messages Tarot Reading, June 4th, 2016

What’s new, everybody!? Well, the moon is new in the sign of Gemini today, which may give you a deeper desire to communicate and engage with those around you. The Gemini New Moon is communicative, so this is a great time to get your message out there. What do you want to tell your lover, your friends, your coworkers, or the whole wide world? You have the ability and gumption to spread the word with this New Moon, whether it be in writing, a conversation, or a work of art, etc. As usual, I’ve done a special tarot reading to help us get in alignment with the fresh, inspired energy of the New Moon. This month’s reading gives us each advice from the tarot:

What message do you need to share at this New Moon?- The Hierophant
The Hierophant wants you to share your wisdom, your knowledge, and your expertise. We each have things that we just know how to do better than others. Perhaps you have extensive experience in a matter which you see a friend or loved one struggling with now. Why not offer them your insight into the situation, share your story? You don’t have to force your perspective or advice down their throat, but you can gently let them know that they are not alone and they will get through it. The Hierophant is a reminder that you don’t have to reinvent the wheel since most of the time you are not the first human to ever go through something. If you are struggling, look to a wise counsellor for help, someone who you can trust and open up to. Often getting a feeling into words and off your chest is the first step towards healing.

What advice will help you most effectively communicate this message?- Emperor rx
Like I mentioned above, the best way to communicate with others is avoid condescending or lording your experience over them. Just because you have done it and can see the solution or feel like it is so easy to get over whatever is bugging your friend, just means you are forgetting how hard it was before. You need to tune into your empathy instead of Mr. Fix-It behavior. Instead of saying, “You know what you need to do, xyz, etc.?,” try saying, “Ugh, that is tough but I’m sure you can get through it and I support you.”  Do you see the difference? In that same vein, if you are the one doing the sharing, ask yourself if you are looking for advice or support? Find a friend or counsellor who will meet that need. There is a big need for love, generosity, and acceptance now so open up your heart to the warmth of others.

How can you channel your creativity and inspiration to learn to communicate?- VI of Swords rx
It is time to learn how to let go. Well, it is always time to learn how to let go since this is a constant process for us baggage holder humans. Our minds want to cling to past hurts, slights, and regrets, but honestly those rarely serve us in any helpful capacity. It’s time to find some techniques for moving into the present and out of the past. Your Hierophant advisor may have some thoughtful ideas on how to go about doing this so look for mentors or guides to lead you to the next level of letting go. You need to learn to recognize your resistance, your blocks, and your triggers. These are constants that you will find popping up over and over again in a similar pattern. Getting a firm grasp of where your resistance crops up is a great step towards working to overcome it.

Gemini energy is fresh and playful so make an effort to get out there and have some fun while the New Moon is energizing this sign. Air signs love to be outside breathing in refreshing oxygen, so take some time for outdoor play.  Gemini also has a great sense of humor so enjoy a good laugh at a funny movie or playing games with friends. When was the last time you played charades? This is the perfect opportunity to communicate through play!
